A brand new Nintendo Direct has just been announced, with the company promising news all about Switch and 3DS games coming out throughout this year. The event will take place tomorrow, March 8th at 2pm Pacific Time, 5pm Eastern, and will last for 30 minutes. You’ll be able to watch the show in all of the usual places, so check back here for the live stream and for the big announcements.
What could the company present in this latest Nintendo Direct? Tough to say, as Nintendo has been good about squashing leaks and keeping their announcements a secret. Everyone is currently hoping for an Animal Crossing announcement on the Switch, but no one truly knows for sure if that’s even ever coming. There’s good reason to suspect that the Big N is working on Animal Crossing on Switch, but this Direct is focused on 2018 titles, so it could be outside of that scope.
The Switch had a massive first year in 2017 and early 2018. The console is a verifiable success, selling like crazy while being home to some truly amazing games. Everyone is looking to 2018 to solidify this as another major hit from Nintendo, and this Direct could be where we find out the most important details.
It’s also nice to see more support for the 3DS out of Nintendo. The platform’s death has been predicted by everyone, but the company keeps putting games out, though in much smaller numbers than before the Switch released. It will be interesting to see how much of the presentation is dedicated to the 3DS.
