Today Nintendo Announced that the Nintendo DS has become the all-time best selling video game system.  According to internal estimates, the DS and it’s family of portable gaming systems have sold more than 47 million in the United States since the original launched in 2004.

These numbers make the DS system the best selling system in the United States EVER.  And as a sidenote, Nintendo also released some pretty staggering numbers for the Wii as well.  For the third consecutive year, the Nintendo Wii sold more than 7 million consoles in the U.S. This is an accomplishment that no other console can say that they’ve done.

Fils-Aime had this to say about the milestones:

“When we look back at 2010, we see consumers time and again turning to the value and enjoyment of our products”  Fils-Aime was also heard saying  “God, I Love Stock Options”    Just kidding about that last part.
