Nintendo Promises a ‘Steady Flow’ of NES Classic Editions Before the Holidays

Nintendo might not have known the powerful well of nostalgia that they were tapping into by releasing the tiny NES Classic Edition. The system, which houses 30 classic NES games on a tiny replica console, is sold out across the US on its launch day. Shoppers, most likely frantically trying to buy one for a loved one’s Christmas gift, are searching everywhere and usually finding nothing. However, it seems that that will not always be the case, with Nintendo promising more stock coming before the holidays.

On Twitter, Nintendo said “The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system is a hot item, and we are working hard to keep up with consumer demand. There will be a steady flow of additional systems through the holiday shopping season and into the new year. Please contact your local retailers to check availability.”

They also gave a link to the NES Classic Edition website, which has a list of retailers that should receive the restocks, whenever they become available. The promise of a “steady flow” is a good sign, with Nintendo likely to get as many of this hot item onto store shelves before the holiday as possible. They may not come in big waves though, so you’ll likely have to keep checking with your local retailer, hoping to catch them soon after a shipment arrives.
