Apparently, GameStop has taken a lot of pre-orders for the Nintendo Wii U. So many that they’ve already closed pre-orders for both SKUs of the console and have formed a waiting list. This waiting list will basically put you in queue for your chance to pre-order the console in an effort to get you a console on day one.
The waiting list is only open to Power Up Rewards Members through GameStop, but at this point, the company isn’t making any promises about arrival dates for the console. It likes the Wii U will be one of those hard to get items this holiday season when the console goes on sale on November 18th.
For those that can remember a few years back, Nintendo’s Wii console was also in extremely high demand. Retailers across North America had a hard time keeping the Wii in stock as Nintendo couldn’t keep up with consumer demand for their hardware.
