Team Ninja’s Nioh is sealing its fate with the release of its final DLC package, aptly called Bloodshed’s End. Players will receive a final set of main missions, sub missions, and Twilight missions, as well of a brand new game mode named The Abyss, which presents the greatest challenges seen yet in a never-ending stage. Aside of that, the DLC will also bring new Yokai, new characters, a new difficulty level and new Guardian Spirits, so it sounds like a pretty content-filled finale for one of the hits of the year.

Here is an overview of the plot of Bloodshed’s End, via PlayStation Blog:

Our latest adventure picks up where we left off in Defiant Honor. The Siege of Osaka’s winter campaign was put to an end by a peace negotiation between Toyotomi and Tokugawa.

However, conditions were harsh as Osaka Castle lost its secondary and tertiary enclosures, as well as its inner and outer moats, leaving just the main enclosure for the defeated.

Inevitably, this situation led to an uprising and another war broke out just months after the winter campaign. This is the final phase of the Sengoku-era, and the end of William’s journey.

Released earlier this year to excellent reviews, Nioh has gained over the Dark Souls userbase through its intricate mechanics and its traditional Japanese setting. This PS4 exclusive also represents one of Team Ninja’s biggest hits in recent years.

Bloodshed’s End launches worldwide on September 26 for $9.99, and free for those who purchased the season pass.
