November is almost always the biggest month of the year, filled to the brim with tons of games for pretty much every platform. That also means console sales will be at a height as many are being bought for gifts as well, and that definitely has shown as the current consoles have had their combined best month ever in sales.
Throughout the current console generation, the PS4 has remained on top of sales most every month, but the Xbox One managed to beat out PS4, even with the latter’s price drop, due to a strong first party lineup of games like Halo 5: Guardians.
However, according to VentureBeat, November saw the PS4 take that crown back, though the Xbox One wasn’t too far behind with its best November so far. This just comes to show how much of a juggernaut that the PS4 continues to be in sales, even though the first party lineup this fall has been pretty lackluster.
You would think that the PS4 taking the top spot would have a lot to do with the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 exclusivity on DLC, but it actually sold best on Xbox One with just the game itself. However, the unit sales for the game do not include the bundle, so it’s very possible it did in fact do best on PS4 if that was factored in.
Very impressive for the three consoles, PS4, Xbox One, and even Wii U, is that they had the combined best month ever since all three have been out. While no exact numbers were given, we know that PS4 and Xbox One did well, and we previous heard that the Wii U was the top seller for Target on Black Friday with its bundle.
