Persona 25th Anniversary Website Teases New Game Information and More

Atlus has created a new website to celebrate the Persona series’ 25th anniversary. Fans have picked up on the hints on the page, and have concocted a few ideas. The Persona series is the long-running and super popular spin-off from Atlus’ Shin Megami series. This year marks its’ 25th anniversary – officially turning 25 in December. Atlus has announced a year-long celebration for the anniversary, including events, merchandise releases and game updates!

After the absolutely mammoth success of Persona 5 and its subsequent related titles, fans have begun speculating that an official announcement for Persona 6 is on the way at some point during the anniversary. This would be likely to come on the official birthday in December, or closer to the anniversary’s end next year. Due to the upcoming release of a new Shin Megami game, we will probably see any big Persona announcements later rather than sooner, to space out the big news.

The 25th-anniversary rewards that we have seen so far are all located on a specific website created for the occasion and include a selection of wallpapers, featuring characters from across the entire Persona series. Along with these came the announcement of Shop Atlus.

Shop Atlus will kick off in October; beginning with a new merchandise release specifically for the 25th anniversary of Persona. Following this, there will be new collections rolling out every few weeks, according to the website. The shop will stock merchandise not only for Persona, but also the Shin Megami series and singular game, Catherine! Fans have been assured that Shop Atlus will ship worldwide, so wherever they are, they can get their goodies.

Atlus is currently gearing up to release Shin Megami Tensei V in November, coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch. Due to this, fans have assumed that any Persona news will be held off until the game has solidified its own success – so as not to further squash the Shin Megami series. After all, many fans do not even realise that the Persona games are actually a spin-off from the Shin Megami universe.

Speaking of Shin Megami, Atlus have been keeping very busy recently – not only is there the upcoming release of Shin Megami Tensei V, but Atlus recently released a remake of Shin Megami Tensei III – Nocturne, no doubt to encourage previous and new fans to come back to the series before the big releases. The remake is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Steam platforms.

Persona 5 Royal is available now on PlayStation 4, and Shin Megami Tensei V will release on November 11 on Nintendo Switch.
