Obsidian Entertainment has released the patch notes for their upcoming Pillars of Eternity Update 3.0, which will be released on February 16th alongside the conclusion to The White March Part 2. Tons of big changes are coming in this update, both to the base game, and in terms of additional features being added to Pillars of Eternity. Click here to read over the full patch notes, or check out the video below for a full rundown from the developer. We’ve also selected some of the bigger changes to highlight below.
The best thing about this latest update are the new features being added to the game. These include “New content for the Stronghold that has you, as lord or lady of Caed Nua, decide the fate of your vassals and send your companions on new and exciting adventures. A new quest line that allows you to defend your claim to Caed Nua. Knockout Injuries have been added as an option for those that want it. Injuries are added to characters that are knocked out in battle and are only removed by resting.” And “Story Time mode has been added. This difficulty setting is for people that want to experience the Pillars of Eternity story without having to build a party of adventurers focused on combat.”
On top of this comes a ton of smaller changes to both the base gameplay as well as the overall experience within Pillars of Eternity. Obsidian seems to have really hammered out a ton of issues with the game. There are still a few “known issues” listed on the patch notes for this update, however it is still in beta form and being tested, so it seems the team thinks they can work these out before the patch is released on the 16th.
