Apparently Sony has yet to fully tip their hand when it comes to what’s in store for the PlayStation 4 in 2014. While fans are anxiously counting the days for the arrival of inFamous: Second Son, Sony’s Fergal Gara says that 2014 will be full of gems from Sony’s first party studios, who’ve apparently shifted gears with a focus on the new console.

Speaking with Express, Gara says that “All of our major studios are working on PS4 content. These guys are experimenting with and working on the new platform… They may not have announced games specifically but our big studio network is focused primarily on PS4.”

“There are going to be some real gems,” says Gara. In the meantime, Sony will be trying to keep up with demand for the PlayStation 4, which likely had a record-setting holiday season. The console was in high-demand heading into Christmas, and according to the interview, Gara believes that it could be a few months before Sony’s supply of PlayStation 4 consoles catches up with it.

So what could these surprises be? It’s hard to tell. There’s already quite a few games to look forward to on the console. The aforementioned inFamous: Second Son from Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog’s next Uncharted game is in the works, and The Order have already done well to get fans excited. We’ll have to wait until next year to hear about these first-party “gems”.
