This month’s Pokémon GO Community Day will continue the trend of every other Community Day featuring a starter Pokémon. This time, Community Day will star the Water-Type starter Squirtle. Like past Community Days, this upcoming event will feature various bonuses, including a special move that Squirtle’s final evolution, Blastoise, can only learn during this Community Day.
The Pokémon Company recently announced that this month’s Pokémon GO Community Day will allow all Wartortles that evolve into Blastoises within the three-hour timeframe of the event to learn the move Hydro Cannon. Squirtles will also appear much more frequently, with a higher chance to find shiny ones. Also, those who complete Field Research during the event will have a chance to encounter Squirtles wearing sunglasses, which is a reference to the Squirtle Squad from the Pokémon anime. Additionally, all Eggs will hatch four times as fast during the event, and Lure Modules will last for three hours.
July’s Pokémon GO Community Day is set for this Sunday, July 8, and will take place from 11:00am to 2:00pm PST/2:00pm to 5:00pm EST in the Americas, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm JST in the Asia-Pacific region and from 10:00am to 1:00pm UTC in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
