Pokèmon: Symphonic Evolutions is a new, live orchestral concert that will begin touring this August. According to Pokemon.com it “will showcase memorable music from throughout the world of Pokémon, featuring all-new musical arrangements that will entertain not just Pokémon fans but all music lovers.” The first concert will be in Washington DC on August 15th to coincide with the 2014 Pokèmon World Championships which will be held the two days after.

The second concert that has been announced will take place in Philadelphia, PA on September 19th. Tickets for both concerts are available now for varying prices. Future locations and dates will be announced later on, so keep an eye on Attack of the Fanboy for those announcements.

The Pokèmon soundtracks have recently been making their way onto music services, such as iTunes. As the series has maintained much of its popularity over the years, this seems like a good way to generate new fans, while revitalizing old ones back into the series. With Pokèmon Alpha Sapphire and Pokèmon Omega Ruby hitting 3DS this November the concert series is a great move.

This is not the first concert series based around a Nintendo franchise. The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses tour wrapped up its second season at the end of last year, and has not announced any future dates at this time. While the Pokèmon series might not feature music as prominently as the Zelda series does, it still has almost 20 years of history spread across over 20 games.

The entire announcement is below:

“Enjoy a night at the symphony with Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions, a live orchestral concert going on tour this year. Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions will showcase memorable music from throughout the world of Pokémon, featuring all-new musical arrangements that will entertain not just Pokémon fans but all music lovers. Look forward to a wonderful symphonic experience that covers nearly 20 years of Pokémon entertainment around the world.

Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions will premiere in Washington, DC, on Friday, August 15, 2014. The 2014 Pokémon World Championships will also be held in the nation’s capital that weekend, August 16–17.

Warner Theater

September 19 – Philadelphia, PA

More dates, locations, and ticket information for the concert series will be announced soon!”
