Despite the release date being just about two months away Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are still somewhat shrouded in mystery. Gamers aren’t quite sure what to make of the games. Are they full blown sequels, are they remixes, or are they something else? While we’ve seen a couple of new forms of Pokémon that will feature within the game, we’ve yet to see any brand new ones. That hasn’t changed, but The Pokémon Company did just reveal that trainers will be able to find and catch over 400 Pokémon within Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

The tweet reads “As you explore in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, you’ll run into some familiar faces and discover over 400 Pokémon!” So, once again the company seems to be skirting around the question of how many new Pokemon we’ll see within the game, but at least we now know how many we’ll be able to track down within the games.

The accompanying picture and trailer also show off a few of these creatures, which include Mareep and Tyranitar, a couple of classic characters that couldn’t be found in the original Sun and Moon. So new characters will appear for those who’ve only played Sun and Moon before. Long time fans might be left without any big changes or additions though. Still, from the trailers it looks like Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be very different from their predecessors.

You can see some of this in the trailer below, which also shows that Island Challenges will make a return, rather than the traditional gyms that were found in Pokémon before Sun and Moon.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon arrive on Nintendo 3DS on November 17th.
