Released earlier this week, Valve’s “Perpetual Testing Initiative” has already seen Portal 2 players flock to the content generation tool. Over 35,000 user-created maps have been published, then subsequently downloaded over 1.3 million times.

The Perpetual Testing Initiative allows players to create and share Portal 2 puzzles with the Steam community. The simplified puzzle maker allows in-game creation, with tools provided free of charge. To spur on even more testing, Valve has slashed the price of Portal 2 on Steam by 66%, so if you haven’t played one of last year’s best games, there hasn’t been a better time to do so.

Portal 2’s puzzle maker publishes content from the Portal 2 game client to the Steam Workshop, where Steam users can vote on, download and play your creations.
