Project Judge (working title) was recently announced for PlayStation 4 at Tokyo Game Show. Coming from the makers of the successful Yakuza series, Project Judge looks suitably awesome in a way only Japanese games can.
You play as Takayuki Yagami, a former lawyer turned private detective on the case to solve a series of murders tied to his past. The gameplay trailer shows a whole lot of the game’s mechanics.
We see aspects of stalking suspects, infiltration, investigation and photo missions. Photo missions let players get their sleazy paparazzi on with greater rewards depending on the quality of your shot.
The trailer also shows Yagami’s fighting style which looks a lot like the upcoming Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise. And of course, there are plenty of minigames like drone racing, enemy bash-ups and QTE’s to keep the variety going.
Project Judge will star famed Japanese actor Takuya Kimura as Yagami and is slated for release on December 13 in Japan, Asia, and Korea, and in the west in 2019. A demo is available now in Japan.
And if you have the time, check out the full 51-minute presentation Sony.
