It would appear that the PS4 seems to be grabbing sales for Sony in areas beyond its own retail success, as their UK & Ireland marketing director has indicated a 163% increase in PS Vita sales which he attributes to the PS4.

According to IGN, marketing director Fergal Gara stated the following –

“A significant number of PS Vita purchasers in the UK indicated that Remote Play was their reason for purchase, and we are subsequently seeing lots of these new PS Vita users connecting to PS4 with this feature.”

With the festive period just gone and the PS Vita Slim soon to arrive for gamers in the UK, Sony find themselves in a pretty good position, one which is seeing them draw in great sales figures whilst starting to gain the lead over Microsoft in game sales.
