PS3 System Update 4.81 Is Available Now To Download

PS3 system update 4.81 has now been released for owners to download. It’s not a big update so don’t expect to see anything big featured on it.

The update is only 200MB in size. PlayStation posted more information about the PS3 update, although nothing special has been announced. Details can be seen below.

An update to the PlayStation 3 system software was released on 1st November 2016. If you update your PS3 system, the system software version will be 4.81 and the following features will be updated. In order to download PS3 system software version 4.81, you will need a minimum 200MB of free space on either the PS3 Hard Disk Drive (System Update) or on removable storage media (PC Update). This system software update improves the quality of the system performance.

As you can see, it’s another stability update with nothing interesting on it. You may have to download the update ASAP in order to visit the PlayStation Store and/or play online video games.

It will be interesting to see how many more times the console will be updated in the near future. Lots of people are now migrating over to the PS4 console. Not to mention in November, Sony is also releasing the new PS4 Pro console.
