Strategy Analytics Connected Home Devices has recently released it’s Global Market Forecast and Outlook. It declares that Sony will sell more PS3 units over the lifetime of the console in this current generation than Xbox 360 and even Nintendo Wii.

The report noted that ” The PS3 will still be a commercial platform five years after the Wii has been replaced .  Lifetime Playstation 3 sales are predicted to reach 127 million units compared to 103 million Nintendo Wii units.”

It also sees falling sales for both the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360.  And believes the Wii ” install base will peak in 2011″.  The company also believes that ” Ownership of both the PS3 and Xbox 360 will hit their highest points between 2012 and 2014.” Strategy Analytics goes on to forecast 2010 as a down growth year with sales falling as a whole by 9%.  Forecasting 17.5 million Wii’s sold, 14.0 million PS3’s sold, and 10.5 million Xbox 360’s sold.
