PS4 Leads The Way Once Again In April’s NPDs

Yesterday brought us the latest monthly NPDs, this time for the month of April. We told you that hardware sales were down all across the board, but for some reason no one was coming out to tout winning the month as usual. While none of them have officially come out and given a press release yet, we now know who actually did win the month.

Microsoft has said they don’t release console sales information like that anymore, but Sony always seems to reveal that they have won. This made some people think that perhaps the Xbox One could have won April.

However, that is not the case as we finally have word that the PS4 did indeed keep their streak going with a victory in April.

This news came courtesy of a statement that Sony gave GameSpot after they inquired on if they had outsold the competition in April, in which they confirmed that the PS4 had sold the most during the month.

The Xbox One did have a special price cut in April that helped push some console sales, but PlayStation exclusive titles like Ratchet & Clank and MLB The Show that released recently likely helped PS4 to stay on top.
