It has now been announced at Sony’s PlayStation Meeting that the PS4 Pro console will make many older games look better in 4K. You can enjoy more than just new games.

It has something called forwards compatibility meaning your older games will now look better than ever in 4K. Sony confirmed that many PS4 video games will receive update patches in order to take advantage of this. Two games confirmed so far include inFamous: First Light and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Sony also said that 1080p video games can benefit somewhat with HDR. The visuals won’t be as good as playing on an actual 4KTV, but you will notice the richer colors than playing on a normal PS4.

Activision also confirmed that both Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered will have 4K gaming at launch when it’s out on November 4th, 2016. This means you don’t have to wait for an update patch or anything like that to play 4K Call of Duty.

We will update you for the price and release date for the PS4 Pro console. It sounds like it’s a piece of hardware for hardcore gamers that already own a 4K TV at home. There’s still no confirmation if PS4 has backwards compatibility though…
