During this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Sony dropped a pretty significant bomb on the audience by revealing an all time low price for the PlayStation 4 console in Japan, Â¥34980 – around $290 at the time of the announcement.
That’s a very serious price tag, particularly when you compare it to the rest of the world. In fact, even the previous price of Â¥39980, or around $332 during the time of the price drop, had Japan beating out the rest of the world.
You can imagine, then, that many a PlayStation enthusiast wanted to know when a significant price drop might find its way across the ocean. It looks to be very soon.
According to an apparent leak by retailer Target, the PS4 will soon be retailing for around $349.99 following a $50 price drop. That’s approximately the same price as purchasing a pre-owned PS4 from the likes of Gamestop right now – talk about a bargain.
Before you get too excited, remember that the validity of the source hasn’t been officially corroborated, so take it with a pinch of salt. Still, it’s worth getting excited for.
