Sony has now released a new PS4 update today for owners to download. The firmware take the version number up to 4.01 and is a small download.
Update 4.01 for the PS4 console is nothing huge. The only notes that were provided is that it’s another stability update. It didn’t take too long for me to download.
If you don’t see the update yourself, you can always go to your PS4’s settings to see if a download is available for you. As always, downloading the new update is mandatory if you want to continue playing online or are visiting the PlayStation Store.
Sony already released update 4.00 just a short while ago, so it’s expected that nothing major will be added to the console in the near future. It’s possible we may see more updates post October 13th when the PlayStation VR console comes out.
Not to mention the PlayStation 4 Pro console comes out on November 10th, and that machine could have other updates implemented to it. The new console adds 4K gaming and well as streaming options and more.
We will let you know if any more notes are released for update version 4.01. It’s likely it’s just the aforementioned stability update and nothing else.
