Earlier this year the PlayStation 4 was graced with a limited-time demo for Team Ninja’s Nioh, which was a fantastic Souls-like experience with some Onimusha touches thrown in for good measure. Now the first demo will be followed up with a second demo, bringing more content for everyone to check out.
This new demo is set to launch next month exclusively on PlayStation 4, and it will be following a similar release idea as the first one. It will only be available to play for about two weeks, before it is then removed from PSN for good. There’s no word on whether or not completing the demo will grant users free DLC like the first one, though it doesn’t look like it.
As for what this new demo will include, it will actually be featuring all of the content that was present in the alpha demo, along with brand new content on top. There will apparently be “a new dojo stage [that] will feature an intense training session which teaches the basics of Nioh’s samurai combat system. Players will also be able to explore a yet-to-be-announced stage.”
“Nioh follows the tale of William Adams as he travels to Japan and becomes a samurai. Players will discover a deep and enticing world that blends history and Japanese folklore. The tough gameplay pits players against daunting and overpowering creatures, and encourages them to learn their enemies’ tactics to gain the advantage in battle.”
The second Nioh demo is set to launch on August 23rd and will be removed on September 6th, though an official release date for the full game has not yet been revealed. However, a release date of October 28th was leaked by Amazon before being removed short after. Either way, the game was previously announced to be releasing later this year.
