PlayStation Nation will be hindered a tad on Monday as PlayStation has announced there will be regularly scheduled PSN Maintenance.
News comes directly from the PS Blog that network maintenance will take place this coming Monday, August 25th. It is expected to last from 9:40 AM to 4:50 PM Pacific Time (12:40 PM to 7:50 PM Eastern Time). It is expected to last about seven (7) hours. Playstation will deploy a series of ‘back end improvements’ to the network during this time.
As many players are aware, if you signed in anytime after August 20th (since yesterday) you will be able to play games as well as access apps. So that means you will still be able to watch all those Orange Is The New Black or House Of Cards episodes you need to catch up on via Netflix or watch some Pokemon episodes on Hulu and so forth. You will however, be unable to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home and access Account Management during this time.
I usually use this time to catch up on games on my Vita personally, or sometimes offline games like RPG titles. Hopefully the PSN maintenance won’t last longer than the expected seven hours, which is still quite long.
