The PSN seems to be down for a lot of people right now. Everyone is getting a message that it’s under maintenance, even though one was not scheduled.
If you go to Twitter, there are a lot of people discussing how the PSN is offline at the moment. It appears to be a worldwide issue as nobody seems to be able to connect to it. As of time of writing, the PSN has been down for at least 30 minutes.
This comes just a day after EA servers were hit when the Battlefield 1 beta was available worldwide. Nobody was able to play the beta for most of yesterday and now this happens. This is the annoying thing about online gaming as you cannot play games due to outside factors like this.
Blizzard had its own problems this week as well due to the release of the new DLC for World of Warcraft. We’re not sure if it’s a certain group targeting the servers again, or if it’s just bad timing. All in all, it’s very frustrating since PSN is not a free service anymore.
We will update you if things start to improve. As of right now though, just do something else or play a game that doesn’t require the internet.
Update: Seems to be up again. You can see the status of the network on the official website. Everything is back to normal.
