Update: Looks like the PSN was only having problems for around 45 minutes. The PSN status page is showing that things are back to normal now.
The PSN is not totally down, but some users are reporting right now that they are having trouble logging in. It is affecting both PS4 and PS3 console owners as of time of writing.
The official PSN Status page announced: “You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience”
As aforementioned, the affected platforms are the PS4 and PS3 consoles. The PSN status page also just mentioned that “Gaming and Social” features are limited right now. It looks like you can still access other services such as the PlayStation Store and more.
The Ask PlayStation Twitter page also made an announcement: “We are aware that users are having issues accessing PSN at the moment. Thanks for your patience as we investigate.”
It’s a little annoying this is happening over the weekend when most people want to relax and play some video games after a long week at work or school. Not to mention the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 beta is going on for PS4 users as well.
Hopefully the PSN comes back for users so that they can continue playing. We will update you when things are looking smooth again.
