It appears the PSN is down for lots of people around the world today. This is disappointing considering Battlefield 1 just came out.
The Ask PlayStation Twitter page announced: “We’re aware that users are experiencing issues logging into PSN. Thanks for your patience as we investigate”
If you go to the PSN server status website, you can see the dreaded red colors that indicates everything is down. This includes Account Management, Gaming and Social, PlayStation Store and PlayStation Music.
According to Kotaku, it appears it’s not just the PSN that is down. Several other websites have been (or were) down today including the likes of Twitter, Spotify and Reddit.
Again, it appears to be DNS attacks that are doing all of the trouble. We’re not sure who is responsible for the attacks yet. It’s likely the group doing it are copying what the Lizard Squad were doing in the past. They’re just groups that like to annoy people by taking down websites.
If you want to play on your PS4 offline, it’s best just to grab a game that doesn’t require the internet. It’s annoying if you’re playing an always online video game though. We will let you know if things improve.
Update: PlayStation Europe tweeted“All services are now back up and running. Apologies for the down time and thank you for your patience”
