UpdateThe PlayStation Network is back online after outage.

The PSN seems to be down on a day that everyone is watching the Super Bowl.

Earlier today, many users on Twitter have reported that they cannot log in to the PSN. Sony has yet to update their website on the situation, but a lot of people are annoyed right now.

I can confirm that the PSN is down. I just wanted to play some of my PS4 games online, but couldn’t connect to the PSN for some reason. I’m not the only one having problems at the moment as it looks like a widespread issue affecting thousands of gamers.

Sony has not scheduled PSN maintenance for today, so it’s an outside issue causing the problems. Xbox Live was having issues of its own earlier this week going offline twice. Now, it looks like it’s the PSN’s turn.

The Ask PlayStation Twitter page have just said that they are currently investigating the issue. There is still no other reason why the PSN is down at the moment. As of time of writing, the PSN has been down for over 30 minutes and counting.

We’ll be sure to update you on when the PSN will be back online. Nobody knows for sure why the it is down on Super Bowl Sunday right now.
