PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is preparing to launch the 1.0 version of the game and the Xbox Game Preview version by the end of this year. Apparently this is still on target according to a recent developer update.
The development team for PUBG has been using an internal build of the game to test new content which includes new features like vaulting and climbing, the new desert map, new vehicles for the game, and replay functionality. While they have not revealed when these features will release, they say that details will arrive shortly.
Vaulting and climbing will have “a huge impact on the game,” and the developers say that these will need to be tested for “at least a month.” These features will likely hit test servers first to make sure that they are stable for the official launch.
These new mechanics should be available for testing in late October or early November. The PUBG development team says that there will be three phases before this new content goes live on official servers.
1st phase:Â Focus on testing vaulting and climbing
2nd phase:Â More testing of vaulting and climbing, test other new content and features
3rd phase:Â All new content and features including the new map
These features will need to be tested for “at least 2 to 4 weeks.”
There is still no exact timeline as to when these will arrive, but it appears that they will be available for testing very soon. The developer update did not detail an exact release date for PUBG on the Xbox One.
