Rare is set to announce an all-new video game at E3 2015. The studio promises it won’t be just another Kinect game.

Rare’s studio director, Simon Woodroffe, dropped a few hints of the studio’s plans for E3 on his official Twitter account. It sounds like the developer is finally going to reveal a new IP that won’t be a Kinect game.

First of all, Woodroffe said that “Rare are about doing new things :)“. He then went on to say that “E3 will tell the world what Gregg Mayles new project is about“. Gregg Mayles was the lead designer for games like the original Banjo Kazooie games, as well as the Donkey Kong Country games too.

Woodroffe quoted Mayles saying the new Rare game is “more fun than anything we’ve ever done“. The game will be revealed at E3 2015. The best news is that Woodroofe confirmed that there will be no Kinect involved.

Many gamers have waited for the day that Rare reveals a new and unique IP. The studio was one of the best game developers around. Sadly in recent years, they were relegated to making Kinect games only.

Hopefully this new game from Rare recaptures the magic they used to have in the late ’90s.
