Later this year, the highly anticipated Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will launch on the Nintendo Switch. Those who are aware of the game likely know that its big draw is that it will include every character that has ever appeared in a Super Smash Bros. game, as well as introducing a few newcomers. Recently, Nintendo revealed their plans involving Smash Bros. amiibo.
Nintendo recently announced that two of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s new characters, Ridley and Inkling, will be getting amiibo that will be compatible with the new game. Wolf, who appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl but was absent in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and for 3DS, will also be getting his own Smash Bros. amiibo. All three new amiibo will launch alongside the new game in December and will cost $15.99. Nintendo also stated that previously released Smash Bros. amiibo of various characters will be re-released at some point later this year and cost $12.99.
Though it hasn’t been officially announced, it is likely that other returning characters who were absent from for Wii U/for 3DS, such as Ice Climbers and Snake, will probably get amiibo of their own at some point down the line. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is set to launch on the Switch on December 7.
