Rocket League is pushing forward with its cosmetic DLC options, announcing today a new car pack that is completely themed after the Back to the Future film series. This means players will be able to pull off aerials using the Delorean time machine from the movies. The “Back to the Future Car Pack” is set to hit Rocket League on October 21st for $1.99. That date is not a coincidence, as October 21st, 2015 is the exact date that Mart McFly goes to in the second movie.
As excited as fans might be for the Delorean’s inclusion in Rocket League, it seems that the development team is even more so. “Truth be told, we used to fantasize and joke about having the DeLorean Time Machine in our game months before it even came out” reads the announcement from Psyonix. “We were all such huge Back to the Future fans here at Psyonix, that it was one of the few “Holy Grails” we had hoped for besides having a hit game. The fact that we’re getting both of those “best-case scenarios” in the same year is an amazing accomplishment for us, they’re things we’ll never forget!”
Along with the car, the pack includes the equally memorable “Burnt Rubber” Rocket Trail. If that isn’t enough to satiate your Rocket League addiction, the “Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC Pack” hits PS4 and PC tomorrow for $3.99.
