Movie budgets are getting bigger and bigger as the years go by and it looks like Batman vs Superman could be one of the most expensive films ever made.

As reported by Latino Review, the budget for Batman vs Superman has ballooned to over $410 million. This puts it on par with Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as one of the most expensive single films ever made. Other productions have been expensive, but they have been split between multiple movies.

It notes Dawn of Justice is expensive as the two-part Justice League movies will have a budget split between $500 million. This is understandable since Dawn of Justice is laying down the foundations for the wider DC cinematic universe. Justice League doesn’t need to be as expensive as Warner Bros. could reuse some of the costumes and props they have been made already.

Batman vs Superman had a long production schedule. The movie was originally going to be released in July 2015, but got delayed until March 2016. The movie then had script rewrites and added several other characters such as Aquaman and more. Not to mention it has another rumored villain Warner Bros. has yet to tell us about…

Although there was a rumor a earlier this month that Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2 will have an insane budget of $1 billion. Both films are being shot entirely using IMAX cameras and those things are not cheap. Not to mention this will pretty much have every Marvel-owned superhero in it.
