It wasn’t too long ago it was rumored that the Nintendo NX console would use an Android OS. While that wasn’t true, it looks like the console could emulate Android games however.
According to a report from Spanish website RevoGamers (via NeoGAF), Nintendo could be thinking of emulating Android games onto the Nintendo NX console.
The website states the Nintendo NX console is not an Android console, but the ability for you to play Android games would be very interesting if this report turns out to be true.
Adding the ability to play Android games on the Nintendo NX could be a way to try and attract casual gamers. A lot of casual gamers loved the original Wii console, but none of them came back to buy the Wii U sadly.
The company already kind of revealed the Nintendo NX will be a new home console. Adding Android games however might just be added to attract a specific crowd.
Hardcore gamers will still be catered for as it was hinted the next proper Metroid game might land on the new console.
We won’t know any official details from the Nintendo NX console until 2016. Nintendo is not announcing anything about it officially in 2015.
