Rumor: Nintendo NX Console Could Have Achievement/Trophy Support

Nintendo recently filed a patent that sounds like some sort of achievement/trophy sharing will be a part of the upcoming NX console.

As reported by Nintendo Enthusiast, this patent includes “achievement recording and sharing“.

The patent suggests Nintendo NX owners could record gameplay leading up to the achievement and share the videos to their friends. You can message them and say you recorded a high score and more.

This is just a patent and the idea may not materialize. However, the idea is neat and Nintendo has yet to add some kind of achievement/trophy system to their consoles.

We do know the Nintendo NX is in its planning phases, so it’s interesting to see what the company decides to add in eventually. The same patent suggests the console won’t be using any optical discs. Whether or not it will be an all-digital console remains to be seen.

I’m pretty sure adding an achievement/trophy system to the Nintendo NX console will be welcomed by gamers. Microsoft started the trend by adding it to the Xbox 360. Sony followed suit with its trophy system for the PS3 a few years after.

Official Nintendo NX news won’t be announced until 2016. We can only wait and see if all these rumors eventually come true.
