From Software’s next game was revealed during the Microsoft E3 2018 Press Briefing, confirming previous rumors. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is set in the world of late 1500s Sengoku Japan. This is a high tension, violent world where Samurai are constantly in life or death conflict.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is being directed by Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyzaki. It’s a third person action adventure game with RPG elements. A single player game, Sekiro puts players in a protagonist role of a warrior whose mission is to rescue his master and get revenge on his nemesis.
It doesn’t sound like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is going to be a “Souls-like.” Comments from Activision reveal that the game will give players “an experience that’s unlike any other FromSoftware game to date.”
From the gameplay reveal, it looks like it certainly shares some similarities to Dark Souls and Bloodborne, but we’ll need to see more before we can fully confirm how different it is.
