Fans of Devil’s Third and Tomonobu Itagaki’s work will be glad that some gameplay scenes have been revealed to show off the upcoming Nintendo Wii U exclusive.

The very M-Rated game is a hack & slash/shooter from Valhalla Game Studios and is Itagaki’s first game since leaving Tecmo. The game is being published by Nintendo, but currently has no North American release date. However, the clips released via AllGamesBeta are in English. Such as the opening cutscene to the game below which sets up the tone of the game.

The next clip is actually a streamlined peek at the first mission and the subsequent boss fight in Devil’s Third. The gameplay looks to be a good mix of third person slashing and first person shooting. Also the seamless transition from scenes to gameplay is pretty cool as well. It makes great use of the Unreal Engine 3 technology it uses for the Wii U. Check it out below.

Devil’s Third is set to release in Japan on August 4th and then in Europe on the 28th followed by Australia on the 29th, exclusively on the Nintendo Wii U. Again, no release date has been announced for North America.  After seeing the game in action, this just makes me want a release date for America that much more.
