Skull and Bones Announced By Ubisoft

Today Ubisoft announced Skull & Bones a new IP that is set in the world of pirates coming from Ubisoft Singapore.  A tactical action game that takes what was started in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag and takes it a step further.  Playable by a solo player or with a group, the game seems to be focused on multiplayer player vs player gameplay.

Ubisoft showcased five versus five gameplay where each player controlled a pirate ship of their own, and teams battled for loot.  Each ship in the battle appeared to have different aspects, some were great at long range combat while others were more powerful up close.  Players will navigate the waters and wind of the seas as well as other player attacks to score points and loot scattered throughout the map.  Teams must both collect loot and escape with it to win.

Skull and Bones sounds like a direct response to how popular the sailing and ship management aspects of Black Flag were.  The game itself almost looks like an extension of this previous game with a big focus on multiplayer.

Skull and Bones will also hold a beta.  Those interested can sign up at skullandbones.com for more information. The game is expected to release in Fall 2018 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
