Small Note On Controller Support For Tekken 7 At EVO 2015

Mad Catz has revealed the type of controller that is compatible to play Tekken 7 at EVO 2015 later this year.

Mad Catz’s community manager, Mark Julio, tweeted the following:

“Just a heads up for TEKKEN pad players at EVO 2015. DS3 & DS2 with converters will NOT work with TEKKEN 7. You’ll need a DS4. Plan now!”

The arcade version of Tekken 7 will be used at EVO 2015. It appears if you are a controller type of player, only the DUALSHOCK 4 controller can be compatible via a converter. DUALSHOCK 2 and DUALSHOCK 3 controllers will not work with the game sadly.

EVO 2015 usually requires people to bring their own controllers. For people that like playing on controllers, you’ll have to bring in your own DUALSHOCK 4 controller to play Tekken 7. Arcade style players can use the sticks themselves.

Julio went on to tweet another update:

The @TEKKEN_Project team will send an update about #EVO2015 & TEKKEN 7 soon. We’ll have a full list of compatible controllers by then.

Right now, Tekken 7 has only been announced for the arcade platform. Hopefully Bandai Namco will announce a console version of the game real soon. The announcement could happen at either E3 2015 or EVO 2015.

The EVO 2015 event itself happens in Las Vegas on July 17th until July 19th.
