Heart Machine, The developers of Hyper Light Drifter have just announced their newest title. Solar Ash Kingdom. Hyper Light Drifter was a beautiful, unique take on the 2d action adventure game. Incorporating difficulty precision combat, deep world to explore, and rpg mechanics. From the Trailer Solar Ash Kingdom looks like it will be just as unique an experience with an equally beautiful world. Although this time, it’s a big harder to pin down what type of game it will be.

The aesthetic style of the developers definitely comes through, but this time rendered in a stunning 3d world. From the trailer it seems that this game will be much more kinetic. Movement seems fast paced, from the character gliding through the clouds, skating on the ground, then launching themselves at the enemy.  Other than this kinetic movement, it seems like there might be elements of platforming, and exploration. In the background we can see a giant flying monster circling a tower, possibly a place we can get to and something to fight.

The Developers have stated that this game will take place in the same universe as Hyper Light Drifter,  and will have some thematic elements carried across the two games, but this isn’t a direct sequel.

The trailer ends with a Epic Games Store logo, so presumably it will be coming out as an exclusive on that.
