Some unlucky PS4 Destiny gamers are being told to re-download the huge 18GB update patch. Bungie is aware of the issue and is currently investigating the problem at the moment.

As reported on the official Bungie forums, Bungie is “actively investigating why some players on the PlayStation 4 are being required to re-download the full 18 GB patch history“.

Some people are also noticing that this patch appears as Patch 1.17 instead of Patch 2.0.1.

Here’s players are experiencing:

*If you are encountering a ‘corrupted data’ error message, you may want to stop your download, clear your console cache, and then restart the download.

*Some players are reporting that while the download says it’s a full 18 GB, it actually only downloading today’s small patch. This is the expected behavior for PlayStation 4 downloads. However, we are still investigating the reports from some players that they are being required to re-download the full 18 GB.

Obviously, many Destiny players are not happy about this. Some people are even saying a patch is not even downloading at all based on the comments left on the forum pages.

The best thing players should do is just wait this out and hopefully Bungie fixes the problem soon.
