Horizon Zero Dawn is perhaps the biggest PS4 exclusive of the year so far, and it is about to see its story and gameplay expanded with an additional adventure set to be released later in the year. The DLC is called The Frozen Wilds, and it puts the game’s heroine Aloy following a brand new quest in the snowy mountains of the north.

The official synopsis of this new adventure reads: “Beyond the northern mountains, the borderlands of the Banuk tribe challenge all who dare enter to survive the extremes. But now this frozen wilderness harbors a new threat, and for Aloy, a new mystery – one she’s determined to solve.”

The Frozen Wilds adds a new storyline, a new area, new machines, and will feature dynamic 4K gaming, improved graphics and environments, and High Dynamic Range visuals on PlayStation 4 Pro. This is not a standalone adventure, so players need to have purchased Horizon Zero Dawn first to have access to The Frozen Wilds.

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds will be releases this year for PS4. Watch the trailer below.
