What is Splinter Cell: Retribution?

According to a internally leaked 2012 release schedule, this year could see the return of Sam Fisher in a new Splinter Cell game called Splinter Cell: Retribution.  Known as Splinter Cell 6, Jade Raymond of Ubisoft had hinted that a new Splinter Cell title would be announced shortly all the way back in October of last year.  Coming off the success of Splinter Cell: Conviction, the team took the game in an entirely new route, giving way to a more action oriented, Jason Bourne-like experience.

Obviously no details on the upcoming game have been revealed at this time, but if the internally leaked release schedule is to be believed, Ubisoft has quite a lineup in-store for gamers in 2012.
