When Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy 15 Ultimate Collector’s Edition, they were pretty much sold out instantaneously. Square Enix might be finding a way to increase its production so more gamers don’t miss out.
This was hinted by an announcement made via the official Final Fantasy 15 Twitter page. Hajime Tabata teased that they might supply more units for the Ultimate Collector’s Edition in the near future. He said he will alert fans as soon as he can.
Tabata also mentioned that Square Enix is clamming down on scalpers. He didn’t say on Twitter how they will deal with scalpers, but they might cancel orders if they know people are just buying the Ultimate Collector’s Edition just to resell it later.
The Final Fantasy 15 Ultimate Collector’s Edition was hard to get mainly because Square Enix intended to only make 30,000 units of it worldwide. Not to mention it was only available via the company’s own online store.
Demand for the game itself seems to be pretty high as Tabata said a large number of users downloaded the free Platinum Demo that just came out. This would have been the first time that several people played the game as not everyone would have bought Final Fantasy Type-0 HD last year to experience last year’s demo.
