Paramount Pictures has released an all-new trailer for Star Trek Beyond which improves on the first teaser that came out a few months ago that left some fans worried.
The first teaser trailer had a very mixed reaction as the Beastie Boys song didn’t go well with the movie and fans didn’t like how it was trying to attract a more “mainstream” audience by filling it with jokes.
The second trailer is a lot better and Star Trek fans are looking more optimistic than before. It has a tradional movie-style soundtrack and focuses more on the story and action as opposed to one-liners.
The second trailer also shows Idris Elba’s character who is the main villain in Star Trek Beyond. Thankfully, it doesn’t look like this trailer spoils any major plot points which is a good thing. The only thing we do know is that Captain Kirk and his team are stranded on a strange new alien planet.
Star Trek Beyond releases July 22nd, 2016 and is being directed by Fast & Furious’ Justin Lin. All of the main cast members return to play the roles that they have played since the reboot started back in 2009.
