Star Wars Battlefront launched last year and sold well despite most agreeing it lacked in content, but there are apparently much bigger things in store when it comes to the game’s sequel. EA’s Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen recently spoke at the Nasdaq 35th Investor Program Conference in London, where he shared some insights on Star Wars Battlefront 2.
He confirms that the game will be releasing next year, while also confirming that the original game sold 14 million units and that that was very impressive for a first time title. He then goes on to say they were very happy with the product they came up with last year, but they are also taking all of the criticisms to heart to make the sequel better. He said the following:
“There seems to be no waning in excitement around the Star Wars world. We’ve got another movie coming up obviously in a few weeks, and people are very excited about it. So we’re looking forward to bringing to the table next year a much bigger, much more exciting Battlefront for consumers.”
This falls in line with what Jorgensen said recently regarding Star Wars Battlefront 2, as he said during EA’s latest financial conference call that the game would be an extremely deep and engaging offering. We still don’t have a release date estimate, though it is expected to launch in Q4 similar to how the first game did.
