EA and DICE have released the first teaser trailer for Star Wars Battlefront’s upcoming Death Star DLC. The expansion, which adds brand new maps based around the epic conclusion of the original Star Wars film. The battle against the Death Star will be presented to players in all its glory, even including space battles that were previously absent from the game.
The entire battle will be split across various maps, with some taking place in the space outside, while others are in the interior of the massive space ship. This includes the classic trench run against the Death Star, a staple of many Star Wars video games going back to the beginning of the franchise.
Star Wars Battlefront previously excluded space battles from the game, with all space ship combat taking place in the air around planets. While this doesn’t seem to add in the same features that we’ve seen from the franchise before, it is a big step in the right direction for a game that many felt was lacking content at launch.
The Star Wars Battlefront DLC will come for free to those with the Season Pass, and can be purchased separately by anyone else. The new maps and modes aren’t the only thing it will contain, with promises of new weapons and heroes, including the fan-favorite Chewbacca.
We also got a release date for the Star Wars Battlefront Death Star DLC, arriving some time in September for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
