Star Wars fever is in full effect with The Force Awakens only a week away and Star Wars Battlefront is the perfect companion piece to that, especially with the recent free Battle of Jakku DLC. After a long hiatus in this series, the game certainly had a strong debut, setting a new record for Star Wars games.

The monthly NPDs for November have arrived and with that we got news that the PS4 had returned to the top. Star Wars Battlefront certainly had a tough task ahead of it, with other hyped releases like the latest Fallout 4, but it still managed to do very well.

Coming just behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Fallout 4 is Star Wars Battlefront in the #3 spot for the month of November according to VentureBeat, which is more than respectable in such a crowded month of major releases.

The more impressive statistic is that Star Wars Battlefront had the best selling debut month for a Star Wars video game ever. In fact, it sold 21% more than the previous number one in Star Wars: Force Unleashed. Granted, there haven’t been that many major releases that garnered widespread support, but it is still really good for this game.

While Star Wars Battlefront has gotten some backlash for lacking content, I’m sure it will continue to sell well, as there are many that will just want to play any sort of Star Wars game after seeing The Force Awakens, and Star Wars Battlefront could be just that.
