At long last, Respawn Entertainment has unveiled the official trailer for their new Star Wars title, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Shown at the Star Wars Celebration event in Chicago, the games premise shows the state of the Jedi Order after Palpatine dismantles them at the end of Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. On top of that, the game has an official release date for November 15, 2019.
No actual gameplay was shown, but thanks to Respawns CEO Vince Zampella, we already know that the game will be a single player only experience with no microtransactions. From what we could tell in the trailer, Jedi Padawan Cal is in hiding from the Empire while trying to find a way to rebuild the Jedi. A task easier said then done, as Palpatine and his apprentice, Darth Vader, are continuously searching for any remnants of the Republic.
Inquisitors and other hunters will attempt to foil Cals plans as well, making the journey that much more perilous. Since you’ll be a Jedi, we can expect force powers, as well as lightsaber combat. How this will be implemented is anyone’s guess, but it looks like Respawn is trying to avoid mistakes other Star Wars titles have made in the past. Whether they actually accomplish this remains to be seen, but either way, the game is coming, and it’s coming sooner than we thought.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order launches on November 15, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can check out the trailer here:
