by Damian Seeto

Some sort of announcement on Street Fighter 5 is expected to happen this weekend during the PAX Prime event.

The game’s producer, Yoshinori Ono, tweeted:Unfortunately, I’ll be not able to visit to PAX prime in this weekend. However we’re making preparation new something announcement for SFV. I’m excited about it announcement!! ;D At last I’ve got my wish!! I’m sure that it will make you happy.

This sounds interesting. It’s likely we might getting a new character announcement of some sort. 16 characters will be in the game, but only a handful have been revealed so far.

It’s also interesting that Ono highlighted that he got his wish. It could be a character that he really likes will be put into Street Fighter 5. The announcement could also be related to a new feature too.

In a separate tweet, he said that Capcom is set to announce a restart for the Street Fighter 5 beta in North and Latin America. As you might know, the original beta didn’t get off to a great start.

PAX Prime is happening at Seattle, Washington from August 28th until August 31st. Aside from Street Fighter 5, several other games will also be making an appearance too. Hopefully some big news is revealed during the weekend.
