The prize pool for the Dota 2 International 2015 tournament has just surpassed the $12,000,000 mark which means yet another stretch goal has been reached by fans.

Valve initially set the basic prize pool to $1,600,000 with fans able to increase the prize pool via purchases of the Dota 2 International 2015 Compendium and Points. When a player buys a Compendium, or Compendium Points, 25% of the cost is automatically added into the prize pool.

By passing the $12 million stretch goal owners of the Dota 2 International 2015 Compendium will soon receive a brand new music pack; which will hopefully be as epic as last years. The unlock isn’t quite as exciting as the $11 million stretch goal of a “Desert Terrain” map skin; which fans have nicknamed “de_dota2” after the iconic Counter-Strike map “de_dust2”. However, the more unlocks the better!

The next stretch goal is at $13 million and will see a Bristleback announcer pack being made for Compendium owners. Future stretch goals include at $14 million new weather effects and the final, currently announced, stretch goal at $15 million a “special” Axe Immortal item and a longform comic. Rumors have recently surfaced that Valve are planning additional stretch goals if the $15 million goal is reached before the International.
